Conversations about housing often focus on land, location and price. The materials that go into a home get less attention, yet they decide how long it lasts, how comfortable it is to live in and what it costs to maintain. In a climate like Ghana’s, a good material choice at the start can save an owner a great deal later.
What should professionals consider when choosing materials that influence quality, durability and value?
On Friday, 30 October 2026, 44 Wood Ghana will explore that question in a conversation with industry professionals, in a webinar titled “Choosing the Right Materials for Interior Projects”, part of its 44 Collective series. The session takes place online on Zoom at 11:00 a.m. and is aimed at professionals working across interiors, design and construction who want a clearer view of the factors behind sound material decisions.
Who is speaking
Audrey Forson, President of the Interior Designers and Decorators of Ghana (IDDG), is Guest of Honour
Patrick Moore, GREPA Board Member and International Liaison
Zain Aljendi, Projects Manager
Arun Suthar, Technical Department
The session will be hosted and moderated by Deetwald Nyarkoh, Marketing Manager at 44 Wood.
Why it matters
Material decisions are made early in a project but affect it for years, from how a space looks and performs to how long it lasts and what it costs to maintain. Bringing designers, technical specialists and industry leaders into one discussion gives professionals different perspectives on how those choices are made in practice.
That is why we are glad to support this discussion. The topic fits our mission of making real estate and housing information accessible to everyone, it connects directly to the question guiding us as we prepare our fifth edition: “Who is Ghana’s real estate really for?” Affordability is not only about the price of a plot or a purchase. It also depends on whether what is built is durable, practical and well specified. We were pleased to see Audrey Forson, who featured on the cover of our fourth edition, leading the conversation as Guest of Honour.
